Light The Night Walk 2014

Last September, my father in law passed away from a rare form of Lymphoma. He was a loving father, husband, brother, son, uncle, friend, and was a true role model to everyone around him.

As we did last year, we will be partaking in the Light The Night Walk organized by the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada on October 25th, 2014.

What is Lymphoma?

From the society's website,

Lymphoma is the name for a group of blood cancers that develop in the lymphatic system. The two main types are Hodgkin lymphoma and non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL).

In 2013 about 8,900 Canadians will be diagnosed with lymphoma. Most will be diagnosed with NHL - an expected 7,900 people.

Hodgkin lymphoma is one of the most curable forms of cancer. For patients with slow-growing NHL, treatment may keep the disease in check for many years.

How can you help?

We are fundraising in the weeks surrounding the walk. I've personally set a goal of $400 CAD and am part of a team whose overall goal is $5000 CAD. Any and all donations are welcome and can be done online through the Light The Night website.

Please visit my donation page for more information and don't hesitate to reach out if you have questions about the donation process.
